Geographer
You know capitals that most atlases print in small type.
This page describes one possible result of the quiz World capitals quiz: how many do you know?
What this means
Eleven or more out of fifteen is well ahead of most people who take this quiz. The easy traps did not catch you, and you also handled the hard ones, where the answer is a city many people have never heard of.
The bank has plenty of those: Naypyidaw in Myanmar, Gitega as Burundi's political capital, Yamoussoukro as the official capital of Côte d'Ivoire, Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte as the official capital of Sri Lanka, Thimphu in Bhutan and Astana in Kazakhstan, which was called Nur-Sultan for a while.
Share your result or invite friends to a group game where everyone gets the same questions at the same moment and a faster correct answer scores more points.
About the quiz: World capitals quiz: how many do you know?
Fifteen countries, each with four cities, one of which is the capital. The countries are drawn at random from more than 130 around the world, so every game is different. You have 10 seconds per question.
Many of the wrong answers are cities bigger or more famous than the capital, so gut feeling can let you down. You see right away whether you were correct, and get a result to share at the end.
How this quiz works
The questions were written by the KahurQuiz editors and the capitals checked against official national sources as of 2026. Countries whose capital is disputed or in the middle of a move are not in the bank. Where a country has more than one capital, the question says which one is meant: the political capital of Burundi is Gitega, the official capital of Sri Lanka is Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, the constitutional capital of Bolivia is Sucre, and the official capitals of Tanzania and Benin are Dodoma and Porto-Novo. Switzerland has no capital set in law, but Bern is the seat of the federal government and is treated as the capital everywhere.
Each game draws 15 questions at random and each correct answer scores one point: 0–5 Beginner, 6–10 Traveller and 11–15 Geographer. The answer options are shuffled every time, so the position of the right answer tells you nothing.
