Privacy policy

The website kahur.ee and its services (calculators, quizzes, RiimiAbi, horoscope, Kahur Sport and clubs, the kahur.ee account) are run by Kahur Media OÜ (Estonia), the data controller. Send questions and requests to info@kahur.ee. We reply within 30 days.

You need an account only when you want to save something. You sign in with a code sent to your e-mail or with Google. With the account we keep your e-mail address, the name you choose, your language, your ways of signing in and your signed-in devices. We use them for the account and for e-mails about it (sign-in codes, confirming a deletion, a warning before an unused account is deleted). The legal basis is the contract (GDPR art 6(1)(b)).

Horoscope and birth data. If you choose your sign in the horoscope or add your birth time and place for a personal horoscope, we keep them, the birth chart worked out from them and your personal horoscopes on your account. To put a horoscope together, the AI service gets only the chart, never your name, birth date or birth place.

If you choose "Continue with Google", Google gives us your Google account ID, your e-mail address (and whether Google has verified it) and your name (OAuth scopes openid, email, profile). We use them only to sign you in and to create or find your kahur.ee account. We never see your Google password or any other Google data.

We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising or profiling, or pass it to anyone, except to our hosting provider, when the law requires it, or in a merger or sale of the business, which we would tell you about in advance. Nobody reads it, except with your permission, to investigate abuse or when the law requires it.

The data is kept in the EU for as long as the account exists. You can also remove the access in your Google account at myaccount.google.com/connections.

kahur.ee's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

• Leaderboard. With a timed quiz result we keep the nickname, country, score and time.
• Group games and homework. The name, country, answers and points a player enters. The user who ran the game sees them in their report. A homework student creates no account and gives no e-mail address. kahur.ee keeps the students' data for the teacher or school as a processor (section 10 of the terms).
• Your own quizzes. The questions, answers and settings you create with your account. They are private.

The legal basis is the contract (your own quizzes) and legitimate interest (leaderboard and group games, GDPR art 6(1)(f)).

• Club members. With a club we keep a member's name, e-mail address and phone (if added), role, language, attendance, games, results, level and the payments an organiser marks. Members see each other's names, results and level, only organisers see e-mail addresses and phones.
• AI in the club. If a club uses the AI assistant or reading results from a photo, we send the club data needed or the photo to Anthropic (Claude). The AI never gets e-mail addresses or phones.
• Player profile, open games and invitations (with an account). Nickname, introduction, level, games, invitations and the answers to them. The profile is private by default. Open games and the partner search are for adults only.
• Reports. Only the kahur.ee administrator sees a report about a player (who reported whom and why) and an earlier venue manager's report (role, phone, note).

The legal basis is the contract (membership, profile and games) and legitimate interest (reports and blocks). When you delete your account, your profile, level, games and invitations are deleted. In clubs your member record stays without name, e-mail and phone, so the club's results stay correct.

If you connect your AI assistant (for example Claude or ChatGPT) to your kahur.ee account, we keep the connection's data (the assistant's name, the access granted, when it was connected and last used). The assistant can only create and edit your quizzes. What you write to the assistant is handled by its provider under its own terms. You can disconnect it on your account page. The legal basis is the contract.

Price alert (no account): we keep a device ID, the notification address and keys your browser gives, the area, language and price limit. The subscription is not linked to you as a person and is deleted when you stop the alert.

With an account we keep the bell's notifications (title, text, link, read or not) and the devices you allowed notifications on. You choose what you hear about and where on the Notifications page.

The legal basis is consent (GDPR art 6(1)(a)): you turn notifications on yourself and can turn them off at any time.

We keep visit statistics on our own server (page address, time, IP address, browser, where you came from and what you did in a calculator or quiz, without the numbers or answers you entered) to see what is used and to find errors. The statistics use no cookies and do not follow the same person across days.

To keep the service working and secure we keep technical logs, for example errors and sent e-mails.

The legal basis is legitimate interest (GDPR art 6(1)(f)). You can object by writing to info@kahur.ee.

If you send a message with the "Write to us" button, we keep the message, your e-mail address (if you add it), the page address and, against spam, the IP address and browser ID. When you are signed in, we link the message to your account. We use this only to reply. The legal basis is legitimate interest. Messages are deleted after 12 months.

Necessary and functional cookies and browser storage are needed for the service you use. We use advertising and analytics cookies only with your consent. All cookies are listed on the Cookies and consent page, where you can also change your consent.

Advertising. On some pages Google AdSense shows ads. Personalised ads are shown only with consent, managed by a certified consent management platform (Google Funding Choices, IAB TCF). There are no ads on account pages, in the quiz editor or in your own quizzes. On a page with ads, the page checks in your browser whether the ads loaded and stores nothing on your device for it.

Analytics. With consent we use Google Analytics 4 and PostHog (including session replay, in which every field is hidden and account pages are not recorded) to see how the site is used.

The legal basis is consent. You can withdraw it at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of the page.

• Zone Media OÜ (Estonia): hosting, database and sending e-mails. The data stays in the EU.
• Google: signing in with Google, AdSense and Google Analytics (with consent) and the browser notification service. Google may process data outside the EU under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
• Anthropic (USA): the club AI assistant and reading results from a photo, under standard contractual clauses.
• PostHog (data in the EU): analytics and session replay, with consent.
• The AI assistant you connect yourself, under its own terms.

We do not sell personal data.

• The account and its data (including horoscope, quizzes and player profile): as long as the account exists. We delete an unused account after 24 months and send a warning before. When you delete the account, everything is deleted at once, and from backups in their normal cycle.
• Sign-in codes and links: up to 24 hours. Sessions: 180 days after last use.
• Players of group games and homework: for your own quiz until the user who ran the game deletes the report or the account, for a kahur.ee quiz 12 months after the game (then a summary without names stays).
• Club data: as long as the club exists. Leaderboard: as long as the leaderboard exists, write to us to remove your entry.
• Price alert and notification devices: until you stop the subscription or remove the device. Notifications under the bell: 90 days.
• Visit statistics: the full IP address for 90 days, then shortened, rows for 14 months. Technical logs: usually 90 days.
• Messages to us: 12 months. Analytics: according to our Google Analytics and PostHog retention settings.

You have the right to access your data and get a copy, to correct and delete it ("Delete account" on the account page), to restrict processing, to object, to get your data in a machine-readable form and to withdraw consent at any time. Write to info@kahur.ee from your account's e-mail address. You can complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate or the supervisory authority of your country.

You must be at least 13 to create a kahur.ee account. If you think a child under 13 has created an account, write to us and we will delete it. A junior's name is never shown on public pages and their profile is never public.

If this policy changes, we update the date at the top. If a change affects how account data is used, we tell account owners by e-mail in advance.
